A beach day sounds like the perfect outing for a dog. Open sand, cool water, the whole family together. So it is a letdown to learn that Al Mamzar Beach Park does not allow pets, on the beaches or in the park.

Your day out is still on. It just means your dog or cat needs a plan of its own. This guide helps you make one.
Can You Bring Your Dog to Al Mamzar Beach Park
No. Dogs, cats and other pets are not allowed inside the park or on its beaches. This is a Dubai Municipality rule for public parks and beaches, and it applies to small dogs and dogs in carriers too.
Leaving your dog in the car park is not a way around it. A parked car in Dubai overheats within minutes, even with the windows open.
A Dubai Beach is Harder on Dogs Than It Looks
Many owners feel guilty about leaving the dog behind. It helps to know that a hot, busy beach is not a comfortable place for most dogs.
- Hot sand burns paws. If the sand is too hot for your bare feet, it is too hot for your dog’s pads.
- Salt water upsets the stomach. Dogs drink while they swim. Sea water causes vomiting and diarrhoea, and large amounts can be dangerous.
- There is very little shade. Dogs cool down by panting, which works poorly in humid coastal air. Flat-faced breeds such as pugs and bulldogs overheat fastest.
- Crowds and noise are stressful. Children running, balls flying and barbecue smoke are a lot for a dog to handle for hours.
Your dog is safer and calmer at home with the AC on. The goal is to make that day a good one.
Give Your Dog Its Own Day
A beach day at Al Mamzar tends to run long. Families arrive early for a barbecue spot, swim, eat, and often stay for sunset. That can mean ten hours away from home.
Here is what a good day looks like for the dog left behind.
Early morning. Take your dog for a proper walk before you leave, while the pavement is still cool. A dog that has had exercise will sleep through most of the morning.
Midday. This is when your dog needs a toilet break, fresh water and some company. If nobody is home, a Pawland sitter can visit your home to cover it. Your dog stays in its own space, with its own bed and toys.
Late afternoon. Once the heat drops, your dog will be ready to move again. One of our walkers can take it out, one dog at a time, so it has burned off its energy by the time you get back.
You come home relaxed, and your dog has had a full day too.
If You’ve Booked a Chalet or a Staycation
Al Mamzar’s chalets and the hotels nearby make it easy to turn one day into two or three. That changes what your pet needs.
For dogs, a stay in a sitter’s home usually works best. Your dog sleeps indoors, eats at its normal times and gets daily walks. It is a family home, not a kennel. We arrange this through our home boarding, and we have set up more than 1,000 of these stays.
Cats usually prefer to stay put. A sitter can visit each day to feed, clean the litter tray and play. Birds and rabbits need fresh food, water and a daily check as well, and our sitters care for both.
Back From the Beach – Three Things to Do Before You Greet Your Pet
Your pet will be thrilled to see you. Take two minutes first.
- Rinse off the sand and sunscreen. Dogs and cats lick skin. Some sunscreens contain zinc oxide, which is harmful to pets if swallowed.
- Keep the barbecue leftovers away. Cooked bones can splinter. Onions, garlic and grapes are toxic to dogs. Wooden skewers and corn cobs can cause blockages.
- Shake out your bags outside. Sand, shells and bits of charcoal end up on the floor, and curious pets eat what they find.

No. Dogs, cats and other pets are not allowed in the park or on the beaches.
A Pawland pet sitter can visit your home while you are out. They give fresh water and food, take your dog out for a toilet break, and stay for some play.
Anxious dogs do better with company than with an empty house. A longer visit at home helps, or your dog can spend the time at a sitter's home with someone around all day.
For a single day, most adult cats are fine with food and water left out. If you stay overnight, arrange a daily visit for feeding and a clean litter tray.
